We maintain links with the playgroups in Bollington and the local high schools.

The Reception Teacher and Assistant visit the playgroups in order to become "familiar faces" before the children see them in school. We endeavour to create as happy and natural a beginning to this new stage in your child’s life as possible.

We have developed close links with the secondary sector schools to which our children move on after Year 6. Tytherington High school, being the main receiving school, provides a carefully planned liaison programme which enables the children to visit the school, and also allows their staff to visit our school for teaching sessions.

Nursery Provision by Footprints    

We are pleased to announce that fulltime (0730 to 1800, 51 weeks per year) nursery provision in coming to Bollington and will be provided on the school site. The nursery was opened at Easter 2009.  The nursery is run by Footprints, the well know independant day care provider from Macclesfield. . This is an exciting, unique in Bollington, new service for full time working parents in the community and to parents from elsewhere with young children who work in Bollington. When the nursery is in full operation it will provide care for children from 0 to 5 years.

Before & After School Club by Funtime 

We have an in school, independently run childcare service, provided by Funtime, which provides care for school age children outside school hours. There is a breakfast club where children can be dropped off at school from 0800 and then escorted to their classroom at the start of the school day. Children can also go to the after school club where they are cared for from 1515 to 1800. There is regular provision in school holidays and children attending other schools may use this service.

Macclesfield and Bollington Education Improvement Partnership (MBEIP)

Dean Valley is a member of the MBEIP which was established in 2006 with the aim of improving educational opportunities for thousands of youngsters in Macclesfield and Bollington. It is a formal collaborative venture involving every school (28 primary & 4 secondary) in the area together with other Children's Services organisations.  MBEIP Website.

Bollington Community

Bollington has a very well maintained and run local community web site called  "The Happy Valley"  providing up to date information on and links to most things going on and organisations in Bollington.

We are also delighted to be actively involved with the Bollington Festival which takes place every 4 years, the last one was in May 2009.
